Mountainous Regions

Snowdonia

Once a term we visit the Snowdonia national park in north Wales. Usually we stay not far from Snowdon, the highest mountain in England and Wales.

Lake District

Again, once a term we try and head for the Lakes. Our first trip is usually near Ambleside on the north end of lake Windermere. Other trips have taken us to Borrowdale and Buttermere. This is surely one of the most beautiful areas in England.

Brecon Beacons

We occasionally run trips to the Brecon Beacons often having adventures in the process. Last year for example a few of us stumbled across a plane wreckage from only a few days previous.

Yorkshire Dales

Sometimes we run a trip to the Yorkshire Dales, usually only once a year. Here you get a chance to do the Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge.

Peak District

Despite being closest to us we rarely run trips here because we favor more mountainous places. Over the last few years though we've been running day trips during exam times to allow everyone a break away from work.

Scottish Highlands

Over the Christmas holidays we have our week long trip to Scotland. Normally this either to the Cairngorms or in the areas immediately surrounding Fort Willima. Everything here is so much bigger, more remote and exciting than any other area we go to. It's a shame that it takes so long to get there. Furthermore last year we were able to fund an expedition along the Cullin ridge on the isle of Skye undertaking one of the most famous mountaineering challenges in the UK.
