The Exec

The Warwick Mountains Club is run by a group of students known as the "Exec". They organise all events, trips and manage the club. Each year a new Exec is elected by the members of the club at the Annual General Meeting. Each member of this Exec, except for the Social Sec, has to organise one or more trips throughout the year. RolesPresidentResponsible for the general running and direction of the club. Delegates to other members of the exec and deals with public relations. Is also in contact with Warwick Sport and the Students Union. Vice PresidentSupports the president in the running of the club but is not generally the visible face of the club. TreasurerManages the club financial accounts. Any expenses and payments made by the club go via the treasurer. The treasurer is also responsible for preparing the annual budget. SecretaryKeeps minutes at the exec meetings and performs general admin. This role is usually combined with Webmaster. TourResponsible for organising the Scotland and Alps tours. Does not organise any weekend trip. EquipmentDeals with requests to borrow kit from the club stores. Also is responsible for purchasing any new kit and deciding what needs to be replaced. SocialOrganises all social events throughout the year. This involves considerable effort so this position does not need to organise a weekend trip. MerchandiseDesigns, orders and sells merchandise for the club. This usually includes hoodies, t-shirts and other items. WebmasterMaintains and improves this website. Is usually combined with Secretary. MeetingsThe Exec hold meetings once or more each term to decide what needs to be done. Usually the various trips are discussed and organised at the meetings as well as deciding on the kinds of socials that may be needed and what equipment might be purchased. Any problems such a membership queries, complaints, accidents and so on are also discussed. Minutes |
