Club History

This club has had a varied and interesting past. Originally there were two clubs, the Rambling Society (RamSoc) and the other being called Mountaineering Club. The Mountaineering club gradually became what is now the climbing club and the Rambling Society became the University of Warwick Hill and Mountain Walking Club, which in turn (due to its increasing orientation towards mountaineering rather than hill walking, as well as the ridiculously long name) became known as Warwick Mountains.
